Painted commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-day. It is
part of my remembrance collection.
inspired by the films
“the longest day” and
“Saving private Ryan” painted to recreate that atmosphere with a
wider view of the beach and adding a british helmet with them both bloodsoaked.
This paint was to commemorate the 75th year of D-day my intension was to try and create the same atmosphere as those two great films.. But then by adding helmets from two
soldiers stained with blood, but as the British and the Canadians wore the same helmet it represents not just two soldiers ..but thousands.
