Description

 HMS Invincible HMS conqueror & HMS Arrow in the distance being overflown by 2 frs1 sea harriers with the markings of 801 sqdn. Flown by Lt cdr Nigel “Sharkey” Ward & Lt cdr Mike “Soapy” Watson off the coast of the Falklands.
Both the ships and the sub took up major roles in the taking back of the Falklands.

With HMS Conqueror sinking the battlecruiser  ‘General Belgrano’, originally an American ship (USS Phoenix) from ww2 and survived the Pearl Harbour attack of 1941, but sold to Argentina in 1951 and, coincidentally, was sunk by HMS Conqueror using a torpedo from ww2 and is to date only the second sub to sink a ship since ww2.
